The RD Vial office that handles the tolls for several of the country’s main roads reports cutting-edge technology has been recently installed and is in use to correct several problems that have been affecting Fast Pass users.
The entity’s technology management explains that state-of-the-art RFID hand-held readers are now available on the most used roads to expedite the detection process of fast-pass devices when the main system that opens the access bar fails.
Previously, faced with these reading errors, RD Vial staff had to manually enter the tag code. This maul operation delayed traffic flow.
The director of RD Vial, Jean Luis Rodríguez, also explained that the RD Vial office is working on replacing equipment that has more than a decade in use.
