The Ministry of Labor is working on incorporating rules for regulating domestic help in the new Labor Code bill that is expected to be presented to Congress in 2024. The Ministry of Labor had passed the new regulations to improve the working conditions for domestic help, but the Constitutional Court said that a resolution could not override a law. The Labor Code law already regulates domestic help.
During the Monday, 11 December 2023 Presidential press conference, Labor Minister Luis Miguel de Camps said that the talks to update the Labor Code are advanced. He said the new labor code will also include provisions for remote working.
