The flailing health of the former president of the Dominican Medical Association (CMD), Dr. Rufino Senen Caba continues to be in the news. In October 2023, he was hospitalized for minor heart problems. He recovered satisfactorily.
Then in December, he suffered a fall from his own feet and was rushed to the UCE Medical Center in Santo Domingo. Dr. Caba suffered lower gastrointestinal bleeding with subsequent loss of consciousness, which caused frontal-parietal and left knee trauma when he fell, his doctors reported. Since then, he was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit at the Cedimat hospital. He underwent an endoscopy. His doctors have yet to update the general public on his health situation.
