President Luis Abinader was in Las Galeras on Friday, 22 December 2023 to inaugurate several works bettering this Samana destination and the quality of life of those who live there.
The Ministry of Tourism reported that RD$206 million were invested in the reconstruction of the 470-square meter vendors’ plaza (RD$48,899,372.04). A pedestrian access to Las Galeras beach and 1.6 km road construction works were completed (RD$83,290,590.56) and a wastewater collection line on the main street was installed (RD$73,780,964.15).
President Abinader highlighted the importance of the works for the community of Las Galeras and for tourism in the area.
Las Galeras is a beach town located about 35 minutes from Samana city in the northeastern province of Samana.
