The Dominican Republic celebrated the contributions of 97-year old Julio Brache Arzeno. He was a medical doctor who raised the standard of milk for mass distribution in the Dominican Republic, creating the strong Rica brand and Rica food products company. He was buried on 2 January 2024. He is survived by his wife Elsa María Álvarez Bonilla, a sus hijos, Julio Virgilio y Gazhir, Braulio y Elizabeth, Carmen María y Alfredo, Pedro, Yasmin and Elsa Julia.
He was a surgeon, university professor and the first director of the Francisco Moscoso Puello public hospital before taking a leave of absence to improve the quality of milk.
