Somos Pueblo Media revealed the tender for purchasing electrical inputs for the EdeEste power distributor is full of major irregularities. Somos Pueblo says the RD$4 billion contract established that prices could not be less than 15% different from the price of reference.
Eduardo Sanchez Tolentino (El Piro) of Somos Pueblo said that this de facto eliminates the reason for holding a tender, that is that for EdeEste to purchase at the best price. Moreover, El Piro said that an investigation he carried out reveals that the reference prices are already more than market prices.
Sanchez Tolentino says the irregularities in the tender are worse than many already being investigated in the case against Alexis Medina, brother for former President Danilo Medina.
