Adrian Beltre continues to lead HOF voting

Dominican Adrian Beltre, who enjoyed a glorious career in Major League Baseball, is almost surely going to be elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame (HOF) in his first time on the ballot. He currently has 98% of the votes case so far, and leads all of the candidates for this year’s class of baseball immortals.

Of the top 10 vote-getters, there are three Dominicans with Alex Rodriguez and Manny Ramirez on the list. However, they are numbers 9 and 10 on the list, with just 39% and 36%, respectively. Apparently, in spite of great careers, their issues with PEDs (performance enhancing drugs) is weighing heavily with the baseball writers.

Oh, yes, even the eternal Bartolo Colon has received a vote for the Hall, but will not make it this year.

On the other hand, Beltre’s numbers are truly outstanding: 3,166 hits, 477 homeruns; 1,707 RBIs and five Gold Gloves.
