CMD wants a 13th wage for public hospital doctors

The president of the Dominican Medical Association (CMD), Dr. Waldo Ariel Suero, met with President Luis Abinader at the Presidential Palace and pressed for the government to pay a 13th wage to physicians and other health care staff at public hospitals.

The CMD recently changed president, with the return of six-time incumbent Waldo Ariel Suero. Dr. Suero is known for seeking gains from government by ordering strikes of physicians.

President Abinader met with the physician guild representatives accompanied by Vice President of the Republic Raquel Peña; Public Health Minister Daniel Rivera; the director of the National Health Service (SNS), Mario Lama and the director of Retirements and Pensions for the government, Juan Rosa.
