Diario Libre is reporting on how the government has advanced 87% of the contracted payments and the Ministry of Defense has only delivered 2.7 km of the border gate. The project was contracted a year and eight months ago. The first stretch of the block and wired fence was inaugurated in Elías Piña on 19 October. The Ministry of Defense says payments through November 2023 for RD$1.53 billion have been made. The contractors have a contract for RD$1.74 billion to build the so-called for the so-called “intelligent gateway.”
