President Luis Abinader promoted deputy administrative minister Igor Rodriguez to the position of Administrative Minister of the Presidency. He replaces Jose Ignacio Paliza, while the latter has a leave of absence to be the campaign manager for the reelection campaign of President Luis Abinader who is seeking to be reelected. Paliza is the president of the ruling Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM).
Rodriguez is a Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) graduate in systems engineering. For more than 24 years, he had worked with a leading spirits firm before joining the government.
