It was about time. Interior and Police Minister Jesus (Chu) Vasquez announced RD$700,000 insurance coverage for disabilities caused on the job and RD$1 million in case of deaths for firefighters. The coverage will be provided by the state-owned Banco de Reservas insurance division.
The firefighters already have full local health coverage with Senasa. They also receive free transport on Omsa and Opret (Metro) metro and cable car transportation.
