Luis Miguel concert postponed for 18 January

Mexican romantic song singer Luis Miguel refused to perform, and the Wednesday, 17 January concert of his 2024 world tour was canceled. Technical problems, reportedly with the giant screen, would have undermined the show’s quality. The difficulties were not resolved that evening and caused the last-minute postponement of the Felix Sanchez Olympic Stadium concert. The full house learned late in the evening that something major had gone wrong.

The fans were warned by a post on the giant screen that the show was experiencing technical difficulties. But it would not be until 11:17pm that fans were told to hold on to their tickets because the show would be postponed for Thursday, 18 January 2024 at 8pm.

Pav Events, the producer of the show told the fans:
“Given the requirements demanded by a production of the level required by an artist of this quality, the artist’s team and the production company decided to take the difficult and inevitable measure of postponing the concert for tomorrow, Thursday, 18 January, regretting the inconveniences that may arise.

Once again, we sincerely apologize for what this postponement may imply to everyone who came to the event to enjoy one of the most anticipated shows of 2024.”

The concert had been sold out, with ticket prices ranging from RD$3,800 to RD$19,400.

The full house at the concert and playoff qualifier game at the nearby Quisqueya Ballpark were said to worsen peak-hour traffic jams in Santo Domingo.
