E-Z Pass coming to Samana toll road

The concessionaire of much of the nation’s major highways, DR Vial, has announced the beginning of the installation of E-Z Pass monitors (called Paso Rapido) in most of the roads they operate, especially the highway/toll road to the Northeast (Samana/Las Terrenas). Service is expected to be ready for use by the end of February 2024.

The E-Z Pass is a prepaid facility that enables faster crossing of toll booth lines.

The folks at RD Vial told newspapers that they will have 16 lanes ready for the Paso Rapido on this road.

There are already Paso Rapido lanes on the toll plazas that lead into Greater Santo Domingo from the Duarte Highway, as well as from the East and West of the city.

The Paso Rapido cards are easy to purchase at the many booths operated by DR Vial for this purpose and can be recharged online.
