Rafael Santos Badía, director general of the National Technical Professional Training Institute (Infotep), let slip that soon South Korea’s manufacturing giant Samsung would be assembling its appliances in the Dominican Republic.
As reported, “in a short time” the giant would open a manufacturing facility in the new Manzanillo industry and port area on the northwestern coast. The port is the closest to the United States.
Infotep is in conversations to train many of the workers.
