The case against a professor who had violent sex with a 16-year-old student, Esmeralda Richiez, and late in the evening, the student bled to death, has again been postponed in the Higuey courthouse. The judge ordered the case postponement against John Kelly Martinez for February 2024. The case has been postponed on multiple occasions.
The case is now set to be heard on 1 and 6 February 2024 at the Collegiate Court of the Penal Chamber of First Instance of La Altagracia.
