Venezuelan intoxicated by adulterated rum drink passes away

The 34-year old Venezuelan Armando Medina who was intoxicated for drinking adulterated alcohol has passed away. He never survived the impact of the beverage to his system. The “rum” of an unknown brand contained a high concentration of methanol was served during an excursion to Saona Island. After the excursion on 30 October 2020, Medina was left a quadriplegic. His Venezuelan wife Ainhoa Garate survives him.

The government suspended the excursion license to Ata Excursiones, the company that sold the trip.
