
During an event held at the Casa de Italia, the Italian cultural house in Santo Domingo, Italian ambassador Stefano Queirolo Palmas decorated Punta Cana tourism founder, Frank Rainieri with the honorary distinction of “Commander,” issued by the Order of the Star of the Italian Republic.
The Order of the Star of Italy is an Italian order of chivalry that was founded in 2011. The award recognizes people for preserving and promoting national prestige abroad, promoting friendly relations and co-operation with other countries and ties with Italy.
Rainieri was accompanied by his wife Haydee, children Paola, Francesca and Frank Elias and his grandchildren.
The order is conferred by the President of the Republic of Italy on the proposal of the Minister of Foreign Relations.
“When I receive this recognition, I think in a very special way of my parents and although I know that from beyond they will be happy, I cannot help but imagine how happy I would be to have them here physically,” he remarked upon proudly receiving the distinction.
