President Luis Abinader described the Sunday, 18 February 2024 municipal election as “a great democratic act” and noted that international observers have stated the same.
During his routine meeting with the press at the Presidential Palace on Monday, 19 February 2024, the President congratulated citizens, political parties and the election organizer Central Electoral Board (JCE) for the municipal outcome.
“Regardless of the results and who were the winners, the important thing is that the democracy of the Dominican Republic was consolidated and when the democracy of our country is consolidated, all Dominicans win,” Abinader said.
