With a first La Quinta by Wyndham San Francisco de Macoris already under construction, promoters took advantage of the recent Anato Tourism Trade Fair in Bogota, Colombia to present what will be Puerto Plata’s newest city hotel, the La Quinta by Wyndham Puerto Plata.
The 115-room hotel was presented in Bogota by businessman Edward De Valle, CEO of the Grupo De Valle, owner of the La Quinta franchise for the Dominican Republic.
Arajet is now flying direct to Puerto Plata from Bogotá, Colombia, making the northern destination attractive for Colombian tourists seeking beach, golf and ecotourism outings. La Quint Puerto Plata vies to be a chosen destination for Colombian tourists.
Construction had begun in December 2023 on the new 126-room La Quinta by Wyndham San Francisco de Macoris. Both hotels are scheduled to open in the summer 2025.
The same group has opened the Manzanillo Super 8 and the Montecristi Super 8 in the northwestern province of Montecristi to cater initially to the engineers and suppliers participating in the development of the Manzanillo mega port complex, as well as tourists headed that way.
The same company developing the La Quinta franchise has underway the Wyndham Pedernales in the southwest and the TRYP Playa Palenque in San Cristobal, a four-star hotel and resort and gated residential complex consisting of 44 condo hotel units, 36 condominium residences, four bungalow suites, and seven villas.
The company is also developing the ventures City Hub Santo Domingo, Wyndham Grand Santo Domingo, Dazzler by Wyndham Santo Domingo and Dazzler by Wyndham Juan Dolio, with construction start dates still to be announced.
