Six candidates for deputies from the constituency number one of the National District spoke their minds on Tuesday, 5 March 2024 in the continuing of the effort to air the views of the capital city aspirants to legislative positions in the 19 May 2024 election. The candidates were asked about controversial issues.
The aspiring legislators presented their points of view on globalization, gender equality, migration, border issues, social security, the three exceptions to abortion, tax reform, Haitian issues, citizen security, corruption and others.
The candidates that seek to be elected for Circunscripción #1 in the National District are: José Horacio Rodríguez, from the Democratic Option party; Charlie Mariotti Jr, of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD); Liz Mieses, of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM); Priyanka Rodríguez, from the National Progressive Force (FNP); Rafael Paz, from Fuerza del Pueblo (FP), and Missael Guzmán, from the Social Christian Reformist Party (PRSC).
The electoral debates are organized by the Santo Domingo Development Council (Codessd).
