
The Dominican government over the years have been negligent in drafting and approving the rulings of the Transit Law 63-17 that creates the National Institute of Transport and Transit (Intrant). The law has been in effect since 2017, but the rulings that will provide the mechanisms for its application have yet passed.
Recently, residents and businesses in the Naco area, sent a petition to President Luis Abinader to motivate the approval of the rulings, as reported in Listin Diario.
Meanwhile, the Intrant has said it is working on a resolution to regulate delivery motorcyclists. Motorcyclists are involved in 80% of the traffic accidents.
