Two persons were rescued from the sea; one is missing and a corpse was recovered in an apparent suicide attempt in the Caribbean Sea. Three men, including the missing person, would have jumped from the Malecón into the Caribbean Sea to rescue the suicidal woman.
23-year old Cielo Peña Acosta was the mother of two girls, one 5 years old and another of eight months, Diario Libre reports. The woman left her children with her mother to go to work in a betting shop.
Diario Libre reports, the woman sent a text message to a cousin before her leap into the sea: “Tell mommy to forgive me and that I love her very much.” She would have returned home from work.
Diario Libre reports that in an earlier message to a friend, she wrote: “I’m already tired, mana. Nothing goes well for me and every day I feel like I’ve disappointed those around me more, it’s already good, I can’t take it anymore. I feel a huge emptiness in my heart, the debts I’ve made trying to solve a problem I have increased them and I don’t know how I will get out of it. I better not give burdens to others and get out of it.”
