Known for her angelic voice so in consonance with her name, 73-year old Angela Carrasco was recognized with the 2024 Premios Soberano top prize. Angela Carrasco had migrated to Spain with her husband as a young adult and there she developed most of her career.
The highest points of her career are her performances as Maria Magdalena in the Spanish version of the Jesus Christ Superstar Broadway play with Spanish singer the late Camilo Sesto.
The Dominican entertainment industry awards evening took place on 12 March 2024 at the National Theater, with the TV coverage starting with the red carpet parade at 7pm and the actual show lasting three hours at the Carlos Piantini Hall of the National Theater through 11pm.
