Punta Cana hosts OACI aviation symposium

The International Civil Aviation Organization’s 3rd Global Implementation Support Symposium (GISS) is taking place in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic from 30 April to 2 May 2024.

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO – OACI) is a UN agency that works with civil aviation bodies around the world. This is the first time that the gathering is held in the Americas, with the two previous meetings held in Turkey and South Korea.

The objectives of the symposium are to strengthen global operational security, develop a sustainable aviation industry, and guarantee the benefits of civil aviation worldwide.

Building Capacity to Achieve an Effective and Sustainable Air Transportation System for our Future
Building the Future of Airports – Innovation and Sustainability
Optimizing Aviation Capacity
A Deep Dive into the Strategic Architecture of ICAO’s Finvest Hub
Scaling Up Global Collaboration: Enhancing Capacity for LTAG Implementation

Also on the agenda for participants is a technical tour of the state-of-the art Punta Cana International Airport, the airport served by the largest number of international airlines in the Caribbean and Central America.
