
Two men have been arrested in the investigation into the Banco de Reservas branch at La Barranquita, on Av. Antonio Guzman. The identities of those arrested was not revealed. A Listin Diario source says these two provided information on others who acted in the robbery.
General Pedro Ignacio Matos Pérez, director general of the Central Investigation Department (Dicrim) of the Police, is in charge of the investigation.
In the robbery, one bank customer waiting for his wife in his vehicle outside, was shot at by the assailtants and suffered the loss of a kidney, and other serious injuries. Ambrosio Núñez, who lost his kidney, is still hospitalized in a private clinic. Listin Diario reported, he is stable within his serious condition.
As reported in Listin Diario, the branch remains closed. Three days after the robbery, management of the bank attempted to reopen, but had to close by 11am given the concerns of the staff. The bank tellers were extra nervous every time any person entered the bank branch. They still recall the moments when the armed men entered for the assault.
The branch of the bank is inside the La Fuente Fun Supermarket, at the entrance to La Barranquita, in the area south of Santiago.
