
Claro Sports announces it has secured the official broadcasting rights for the Olympic Games in the Dominican Republic. Claro transmitted the Tokyo 2020 games for Dominican audiences.
Claro Sports is promoting the flexibility of its multiplatform, the variety of formats and devices on which it allows the games to be enjoyed at any time through its four HD channels on Claro TV and its four digital channels from Clarosports.com.
Clarosports is the main online sports portal in Latin America that has given an important boost to the expansion of the reach and effective dissemination of major sporting events throughout the region, bringing sports to broader audiences.
From 22 July to 11 August 2024, Claro Sport will broadcast 2,000 hours of live sports narrated in Spanish, with 18 hours of daily programming in realtime, social media coverage, and special productions with the most advanced technology.
Claro Sports also as the regional rights to bring its coverage to YouTube. Claro Sports is also providing more than 2,000 on-demand videos with highlights, clips, medals, analysis and more, on its Claro Sports” YouTube channel.
The Dominican Republic is one of 16 Latin American countries that will have access to Paris 2024 through Claro Sports. The others are Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela. This coverage is 24 hours a day, seven days a week; with 50 live competitions daily, up to 10 simultaneously.
Claro cable TV packages also feature several international channels, such as NBC that will be providing the coverage for the United States audiences. Likewise, relatively lowcost plans include coverage by France’s TV Monde, BBC for the UK, TVE for Spain, among others.
The Olympic Games will be held from 26 July to 11 August 2024.
