Edesur Dominicana chose to entrust local IT techs to revamp the digital transformation of their online platform and thus Edesur WorkSpace has been born. Developed in-house by the company’s information technology and development and innovation teams, the new platform aims to streamline internal and external processes, enhance data management, and ultimately improve customer service.
Edesur WorkSpace is expected to generate substantial cost savings for the company, amounting to an estimated RD$50 million annually. This is due to the elimination of licensing fees and software updates associated with traditional solutions.
The platform consolidates various applications into a single, user-friendly interface, reducing the need for employees to switch between multiple programs. This consolidation is expected to streamline workflows, boost productivity, and enhance overall efficiency.
Edesur WorkSpace also incorporates advanced controls and indicators, enabling the company to automate processes, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to quality standards. This commitment to quality aligns with the Dominican government’s push for digital transformation and aligns with Edesur’s own Strategic Plan 2021-2024.
Edesur says the platform’s implementation is being rolled out in two phases. The first phase focuses on optimizing internal processes, providing employees with access to training modules, performance tracking tools, and streamlined request and form submission procedures. Additionally, it facilitates onboarding for new employees.
The second phase will extend the platform’s reach to external stakeholders, including sales agents, call center representatives, and virtual office personnel. These users will gain a comprehensive 360-degree view of customer profiles, enabling them to provide more personalized and efficient service.
Beyond its operational benefits, Edesur WorkSpace also promotes environmental sustainability by reducing the company’s reliance on paper and other physical materials. This aligns with Edesur’s commitment to the principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (3Rs), further demonstrating the company’s dedication to responsible corporate practices.
Edesur is under Milton Morrison, a young politician.
