The 911, Navy and Missing Persons Department of the Police announced the stop to maritime search operations for 41-year old Juan Jose Valerio Hernandez. His truck serving UPS cargo was lifted last week from the Caribbean Sea near Km 18 of Las Americas Expressway. Lieutenant Colonel Elma Martínez from Unit R14 of the Fire Department led the diving search operations.
After several days of search operations in the Caribbean Sea, specifically near Km. 18 of Las Américas Highway, authorities have decided to suspend the maritime efforts. They will now concentrate on other investigative areas related to the disappearance of Juan José Valerio Hernandez in the vicinity where the truck chassis was recovered and using alternative technological means.
The Missing Persons Investigation Department (DICRIM) is actively involved in the search for what happened to Juan José Valerio Hernandez. The maritime search operations were coordinated by the SDE Fire Department, with support from the Dominican Navy (ArmadaRD), the 9-1-1 System, and other rescue agencies.
