According to the regional office of the Ministry of Tourism, about 30 cruise liners will arrive at the two tourist ports in Puerto Plata, Maimon’s Amber Cove, and Taino Bay in Puerto Plata city itself. According to the press release, some 14 vessels will arrive at Taino Bay, and 16 will dock at the nearby Amber Cove.
As a result, the entire area will be filled with tourists seeking to enjoy the sights and sounds and flavors of the North Coast. There is no “slow” season for Puerto Plata now that the city is served by two cruise terminals.
