The Unified Council of Electricity Distribution Companies (CUED) has appointed economist José Luis Actis as the Interim General Manager of Edesur Dominicana. Actis has pledged to continue supporting efficient management to achieve the best results as quickly as possible, emphasizing teamwork and building on the work of his predecessor.
Actis was officially installed by CUED President Celso Marranzini, who was joined by CUED board members Luis Miura, Pedro Díaz González, Edwin Acosta, and José Florentino, president of the Fund for Reformed Companies (Fonper).
Marranzini expressed gratitude to President Luis Abinader for his strong support of CUED’s efforts to strengthen and improve the national electricity sector.
As reported in De Ultimo Minuto, Actis is an Argentinean economist who worked as an advisor to former Minister of Hacienda Donald Guerrero (2016-2020). Guerrero faces a billionaire case in the judiciary for corruption in office.
Actis replaces Milton Morrison, President Abinader’s first choice to manage Edesur, who was moved to Intrant after four years in charge of Edesur. Marranzini has been critical of Morrison’s management at Edesur, saying he delayed in making important purchases.
