A note in CNN and in other media explains what could be causing some delays at checkpoints in major airports. It seems that a new travel trend has been born where people get creative in placing their items in the inspection bins.
The recommendation being made is that if you are planning to follow the trend and do a display of what you may leave in your bin for overt inspection, prepare the display beforehand to not delay the line.
