Al Horford comes with his family on vacation and brings the NBA 2024 Trophy

Diario Libre reports that Celtics star and Dominican Republic native Al Horford arrived on Tuesday, 10 September 2024 in the afternoon, proudly displaying the coveted Larry O’Brien Trophy. Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla came with the family that flew in on JetBlue.

Horford’s arrival was met with a wave of excitement and pride as he stepped off the plane. “24 years ago, I left this airport with a dream of playing college basketball and reaching the NBA,” Horford told reporters. “And now, I’m here with the championship trophy. I don’t know where the rumor of it being a replica came from, but this is the real deal. It’s an honor,” he said as reported in Diario Libre.

The Celtics’ coach, Joe Mazzulla, accompanied Horford on the trip, expressing his enthusiasm to be part of this special moment. “When I heard Al was coming home with the trophy, I knew I had to be here to support him,” Mazzulla stated.

Horford and Mazulla are scheduled to give a basketball clinic in La Romana.

Horford came with his wife, former Dominican Republic Miss Universe Amelia Vega, their son and four daughters.
