According to Apordom’s data, the majority of cruise ships in August docked at Amber Cove (16) in Puerto Plata, followed by Santo Domingo Ferry (12), Taíno Bay in Puerto Plata city (12), and La Romana (3).

For September 2024, Amber Cove is expected to receive the highest number of cruise ships (15), followed by Taíno Bay (7), La Romana (3), and San Soucí (1).

Jean Luis Rodríguez, executive director of Apordom, highlighted the importance of these arrivals in solidifying the Dominican Republic’s position as a leading cruise ship hub in the Caribbean.

A series of popular cruise lines, including Carnival, MSC, and Royal Caribbean, have scheduled regular calls to Dominican ports in September. Some of the vessels set to arrive include the Valiant Lady, MSC Seascape, Carnival Mardi Grass, and Adventure of the Seas.
