Who are the Dominican artists that have received nominations for the 25th Latin Grammy Awards?

Legendary Juan Luis Guerra has secured five nominations to the 2024 Latin Grammys that celebrate excellence in Latin music. The Latin Academy’s membership body of music creators, who represent all genres and creative disciplines—including recording artists, songwriters, producers, recording engineers and mixers—vote during the awards process for the best of the year.

Guerra’s nominations include “Record of the Year” and “Best Tropical Song” for “Mambo 23,” “Album of the Year” and “Best Merengue/Bachata Album” for “Radio Güira,” and “Producer of the Year” alongside his pianist, Janina Rosado, for the same album.

Other notable Dominican nominees include rapper J Noa, who earned her second nomination for “Best Alternative Song” with “Cabecear.” Christian music artist Redimi2 also received a nod for “Best Christian Album” with “Maverick.”

The merengue group Ilegales was nominated for “Best Contemporary Tropical Album” with “La fiesta,” while salsa legend José Alberto “El Canario” was recognized for “Best Traditional Tropical Album” with “Rodando por el mundo.”

Bachata sensation Prince Royce earned nominations for “Llamada perdida” and “Lo tengo todo.” Vicente García was nominated for “Song of the Year” for “A fuego lento,” a collaboration with Daymé Arocena. Lastly, merengue star Eddy Herrera is competing for “Best Merengue/Bachata Album” with his live recording, “Agradecido Live.”

These nominations highlight the diverse range of Dominican music and its continued influence on the global music scene.

The 25th Latin Grammys will air live from the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, USA on Thursday, 14 November 2024. The three-hour show is produced by Televisa/Univisión.
