The Ministry of Interior and Police, now under Minister Faride Raful, has continued the temporary shutdown of businesses for reported noise contamination, obstruction of public roads and violating limitations to the sale of alcoholic beverages. The Ministry of Interior & Police acted through its Alcoholic Beverage Control Unit (Coba) and as part of the new Operation Guarantee of Peace.
The businesses that were most recently shut down are located in the Colonial City, National District, and the municipality of West Santo Domingo, according to a press release from the Ministry of Interior and Police.
The agency indicated that National Police officers, representatives of the Public Ministry, and other institutions participated in the operational task.
The Ministry of Interior & Police was responding to multiple citizen complaints about disturbances to public order, which have generated disturbances, fights, unrest, and insecurity.
Representatives of these businesses must attend the offices of Interior and Police to coordinate the conditions that ensure compliance with the laws on order and security.
The Minister of Interior and Police, Faride Raful, has stated that inter-institutional efforts will continue throughout the national territory and has reiterated her call to citizens to support these initiatives aimed at guaranteeing citizen security and reducing social conflict.
