
Authorities have stepped up enforcement of night time business regulations in La Romana, closing one establishment and issuing citations to 21 others as part of the ongoing “Peace Guarantee” operation.
The Ministry of Interior and Police, through the Alcoholic Beverage Control Department (COBA), has conducted inspections at numerous businesses over the past five weeks, since Minister Faride Raful was appointed.
One business, Colmado Moreno in Villa Verde, was shut down for operating past permitted hours and causing excessive noise. Two additional establishments, Marinelly Disco Restaurant and Vacca Lounge, were issued warnings for similar violations.
A press release detailed the extensive list of inspected businesses, which included bars, clubs, and restaurants located throughout the city. The operation aimed to ensure compliance with local ordinances and promote a peaceful environment.
The “Peace Guarantee” initiative is part of the government’s broader efforts to curb criminal activity and maintain public order. By enforcing regulations on businesses, authorities hope to reduce disturbances and create safer communities.
