After a three-hour visit to the Attorney General Office, former Minister of Defense, Major General Ruben Paulino Sem had no comments to make to the press. Paulino Sem was Minister of Defense during the government of President Danilo Medina. He just said: “Regarding the investigations and in due respect to the Public Ministry, we are not going to give statements.” He was interrogated by prosecutors from the Persecution of Administrative Corruption division (Pepca) of the Attorney General Office.
The Pepca is investigating the contract Aurix SAS regarding national security signed when Paulino Sem was Minister of Defense. The ownership of the company is attributed to Jose Gomez (Jochi), who is investigated in regards to irregularities related to the irregularities in transit and security with Transcore Latam traffic and National Transit Institute (Intrant).
