Dominican national basketball team member Víctor Liz delivered a stellar performance Tuesday night, guiding Club Bameso to a 77-74 victory over Mauricio Báez in Game 3 of the 2024 TBS District Finals. With the win, Bameso took the series to 2-1 in the best-of-seven championship series.
Liz posted a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds, while also contributing three steals. His clutch three-pointer with 1:38 remaining tied the game at 71-71 and gave Bameso the momentum it needed to close out the third of a possible seven games needed to win the National District Basketball Championship (TBS).
San Cristóbal native Jassel Pérez added 17 points and five assists for Bameso, while Miguel Simón chipped in 12 points and eight rebounds. Fausto Pichardo also contributed 11 points and five boards.
For Mauricio Báez, Jhery Matos led all scorers with 23 points and six rebounds. Juan Miguel Suero added 17 points, four rebounds, and four assists.
In a game on 6 November, Mauricio Baez tied the series to 2-2 with a 91-78 win.
The games are played at the Ricardo Gioriver Arias National Volleyball Center in the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center. The remaining games will be played on 8, 10 and 12 November 2024.
