Corripio Foundation Award 2024 winners

The Corripio Foundation celebrated its annual awards ceremony on 19 November 2024, recognizing outstanding individuals and institutions that have significantly contributed to the cultural and social development of the Dominican Republic.

Held at the Carlos Piantini Hall of the Eduardo Brito National Theater, the event honored four distinguished figures and one charitable organization for their exceptional service to Dominican society.

Award recipients:
• Manuel Antonio García Arévalo was awarded the Corripio Foundation Prize in Social and Legal Sciences, in the category of Anthropology, for his invaluable contributions to archaeological research spanning over five decades.

• Dr. Pedro Pablo Paredes Vallejo received the Corripio Foundation Prize in Natural and Health Sciences, in the category of Psychiatry, for his extensive academic career as a university professor in various branches of psychiatry and his groundbreaking research on the origins of Chronic Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders.

• Guillermo Cordero was honored with the Corripio Foundation Prize in Arts, in the category of Theater, for his remarkable work as a theater producer and director.

• Carmen Heredia de Guerrero was awarded the Corripio Foundation Prize in Communication, in the category of Cultural Journalism, in recognition of her extensive journalistic work in the cultural field.

• The Centro Juvenil Ignaciano was bestowed the Corripio Alonso Family Prize for its support of countless young people, fostering their human and spiritual development based on solid Christian principles inspired by the Ignatian ideal

Each honoree received a statuette, a diploma, and a cash prize of one million pesos.
