
Tourists from 107 countries can enter the Dominican Republic visa-free for short stays. Travel and Tour World online recently observed on how visa-free travel to the country is one of the reasons the Dominican Republic is consolidating its positioning as a leader in travel in the Americas.
The visa-free facility is reciprocated by most countries. As a result, airlines have been prompt to add new frequencies and low-cost carriers have stimulated local Dominicans to travel and see the world. Fares are attractive for tourists and Dominican travelers as well. Young friends traveling as groups is one of the strongest market segments that are now filling the plane seats, increasing numbers of travelers to and from the Dominican Republic.
The director of the Passport Agency, Lorenzo Ramirez said during a recent interview on Esta Noche con Mariasela that the demand for passports has increased considerably, as more countries allow Dominicans to enter without having to go through the expense in time and cash for visas.
