For the first time this season, three teams are tied for first place in the Dominican Winter League (Lidom).
The Tigres del Licey’s dramatic 8-7 comeback victory over the Leones del Escogido at the Quisqueya Ball Park on 3 December 2024 propelled them into a tie with both the Leones and the Estrellas Orientales. The Licey’s incredible seven-run rally in the eighth inning completely flipped the game.
All three teams now hold a 20-15 record with 15 games remaining in the regular season.
The Estrellas Orientales game against the Gigantes del Cibao was postponed due to rain.
For most of the regular season, the Escogido Lions had led the tournament. The regular season ends on 23 December 2024, with the first four teams qualifying for the round-robin to decide the playoff teams. The winner of the Dominican championship then represents the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean Series.
