Hilton has expanded its footprint in the Dominican Republic with the opening on 12 December 2024 of the 177-room Hotel Santiago Curio by Collection Hilton, catering to leisure and business guests. This city center hotel is a blend of modern luxury and local charm and offers moderate rates. Rooms start at around US$150 per night.
The hotel is located within easy reach of the city’s historic landmarks, vibrant cultural scene, and bustling commercial district. The hotel is a short distance from Santiago’s Bella Terra Mall, the Monument to the Heroes of the Restoration, Regional Santiago Theater, the Santiago Apostol Cathedral and the Leon Cultural Center. The hotel is also easily accessible for those seeking medical attention at any of the leading hospitals in Santiago.
The hotel is adjacent to the soon to open Santiago Center Mall (sister of the Santo Domingo Agora Mall), the largest in Santiago. That mall is scheduled to open in spring (March to April) 2025.
The Hotel Santiago includes a 24-hour fitness center, an outdoor pool with hammocks, and a state-of-the-art spa. The hotel has meeting rooms.
The hotel’s Barrancoli Restaurant offers a mix of local and international cuisine. The Hamaca Pool Bar has real hammocks beside the pool. Given that the hotel is located in the cigar capital of the Caribbean, guests can visit the Arturo Fuente Cigar Lounge for a smoke, paired with a selection of local rums, specially prepared mixed drinks and gourmet tapas.
The Hotel Santiago is located on Av. Juan Pablo Duarte, Santiago de los Caballeros, Tel 1 809 894-7000.
This is the first Curio by Collection Hilton to open in the Dominican Republic. A second will be an all-inclusive resort that is under construction in Miches, the El Seibo eastern coast destination. The Zemi Miches All Inclusive Resort curio by Collection Hilton is scheduled to open in March 2025.
The Curio by Collection Hilton brand defines itself as being “a global set of individually remarkable hotels hand-picked to immerse guests in one-of-a-kind moments in the world’s most sought-after destinations.”
