
Minister of Tourism David Collado was in Canada where in the name of the country he signed agreements with Canadian airlines to increase their frequencies and destinations in the Dominican Republic during the 2025 high tourism season.
According to the news report, some 50,000 new seats will be made available for travel between Canada and different areas of the Dominican Republic. For example, Air Transat will open four routes (Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, Samana, and La Romana) and provide 15,000 additional seats. Sunwing Airlines will add seven new flights, adding nearly 30,000 new seats for travel between the two countries.
During his travels in Canada, Collado met with tour operators and tourism sector representatives in Toronto and Montreal, as well as with several airline executives.
