And then there was Juan Soto, a baseball player who signed a contract for more cash than the Shohei Ohtani s stunning US$700 million deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Soto signed a deal with the New York Mets for US$765 to US$805 million for 15 years of work. The numbers vary due to the many clauses that reward All Star appearances, MVP laurels, Gold Glove and Silver Bats awards and such achievements.
Dominican boxers were also medal winners in Paris. Yunior Alcantara (51kgs) and Cristian Pinales (80Kg), won bronze medals at the Games in Paris.
