The National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) seized 766 packages carried to the DR by speed boats near Laguna de Oviedo in Pedernales and another 620 packages on board a speed boat with the occupants getting off near eastern Playa Palmilla, a beach site known for the many luxury boats that park there for a dip in the beach on the same week. The DNCD reports that the men got off and ran into the jungle of the Cotubanama National Park.
Also happening this week, DNCD seized a shipment of 160 packages of marihuana in merchandise that arrived hidden in a freight container to Puerto Plata port.
