
“The game’s not over until it’s over,” applied to the game between Puerto Rico’s Indios de Mayaguez and the Dominican Republic’s Leones del Escogido on Tuesday, 4 February 2025 in the Caribbean Series. The DR started off with a 5-1 lead over Puerto Rico in the first inning of the game, the Indios caught up but the Leones pulled ahead again by four runs in the third inning. The DR was winning 7-4 in the 8th inning but then the Indios responded and won the game 10-7.
Both teams ended the first phase of the 67th Caribbean Series with two wins and 2 losses. Mexico ended with four wins and Japan with four losses.
Venezuela will now battle the Dominican Republic in the first semifinal matchup at 5pm on Wednesday, 5 February and Mexico will face Puerto Rico at 10pm.
The Caribbean Series is taking place in Mexicali, Mexico. The finals will take place on 7 February.
