
Dominican equestrian athlete Maria Gabriela Brugal Gassó made history with her first-place win at the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup in Puebla, Mexico.
This is the first time a Dominican athlete has won a four-star equestrian competition, making it a historic moment for the country. Brugal also won a bronze medal in the speed competition. Her victory has cemented her place in Dominican equestrian history.
The win came with a US$29,062.50 cash prize. She rode Je T’aime Flamenco. The runner ups were two Mexican men.
