The 12 February 2025 Atlanta Hawks vs New York Knicks game went to overtime, with the Knicks landing the victory of that incredibly fast-paced game, 149 to 148.
The Dominican national basketball player, Karl Anthony Towns was impressively effective and scored 44 points, with 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals against the Atlanta Hawks. This was his second consecutive back-to-back night scoring 40+ points for the first time in his career. He became only the fifth Knicks player to land back to back nights of 40+ points, following in the footsteps of legendary players Bernard King, Patrick Ewing, Carmelo Anthony, and Jalen Brunson.
On 11 February, the New Jersey-born 29-year old son of a Dominican mom and American father, had already scored 40 points and 12 rebounds in the game the New York Knicks beat the Indiana Pacers 128-115. Of those 40 points, Towns scored 24 in the first half. That game was most satisfying for Knicks fans who had watched their team lose all three road games in last season’s seven-game Eastern Conference semifinal series against the same Pacers.
