Erick Dorrejo, director of Border Development Policies in the Abinader administration, says he was not aware that against the buyer of a lot he sold in La Esperilla several families had begun a legal case, now known as Operacion Nido, for unfulfillment of real estate deals. Dorrejo’s lawyers say their client returned the US$187,000 voluntarily to the Public Ministry and this act does not mean he was accepting guilt nor can be related to the Operacion Nido real estate scams.
The amount would have been for the sale of a 960.5 meter lot in La Esperilla. The lawyers say the sale of the lot is why Dorrejo is included in the Operacion Nido case filed against Emmanuel Rivera Ledesma and relatives and associates.
