The capital city carnival parade is set for Sunday, 2 March 2025 along the Malecon starting at 3pm. This is an event for all the family. The carnival this year is dedicated to former Vice President Milagros Ortiz Bosch. Juan Carlos Núñez “Kiko” and Paulina Ramírez have been crowned as the king and queen of the carnival.
The parade will stroll along the Malecon from the so-called Obelisco Hembra to the Obelisco Macho with around 80 troupes registered. The participants will compete for RD$2 million in cash prizes.
In addition to the parade, the music groups Bulin 47, Jey One, Jandy Ventura, Luis Miguel del Amargue and Sttefany Constanza have been booked to provide live entertainment, centered at the Eugenio Maria de Hostos Park.
The National District carnival is organized by the city government of Santo Domingo and the Ministry of Culture.
